It was a quiet start to the year but things are hotting up. Sabbathical had a couple of runs at Ffos Las but neither race was really run to suit and he was against decent opposition. He then headed up to Leicester for a 2 mile chase back down in a grade where he normally runs with credit. He bounced back in emphatic style to win by five lengths. He got in a lovely jumping rhythm and travelled really well. That is our first winner of the year so it is nice to get off the mark.
Petite Sioux made her debut up at Newcastle and ran well despite showing signs of greenness. It was a decent race with horses owned by Godolphin and Qatar in the first two places. She is still quite backward and should improve with time and a trip.
All the other flat horses are now back in work and are looking great for their winter breaks. The majority are between four and six weeks off a first run of the season. This includes our new recent purchase called The Muffin Man trained by Jessica Macey. He had three runs last year and earned a handicap mark of 64. His pedigree would suggest he should improve at three, so hopefully he will be a fun purchase for his new owners.
