March 2023

All the flat horses are now nearly ready for a first run of the season. Generally with flat horses they will need the first outing to get back to peak fitness. New purchase The Muffin Man looks likely to run first and Peite Sioux will line up in another maiden. She's a big filly and will only improve granted time so we see her future lying in handicaps.

Our stable star of last year Shahnaz seems to have really strengthened up so we are excited to see how she might progress. Decorated Knight her stallion certainly only improved with age.

Our two year old Doctor Livingstone has unfortunately shown up a bone chip and ligament issue when x-rayed so we will be finding him a new home out of racing and working with Mark Walford to find an alternative two year old for this season. Always disappointing when a horse doesn't make the track but important to put their welfare first if they have any kind of issues.

We are excited to add our first southern trainer to the Maximum Racing ranks. Our new horse is called Capone and trained by Dominic Ffrench Davis. Dominic trains in the heart of Lambourn so has access to some fantastic facilities. Capone is a dual purpose horse who is pleasing in his work at home. He will run in staying races on the flat initially and take his owners to some nice tracks. He is already a three times winner and even ran in the German Derby as a youngster.
