Last week was a busy week in the run up to Christmas. I Had A Dream ran for the first time since having almost a year off and a change of yards. She made the running for 5 furlongs before tiring late on as expected. Like a lot of horses she did not particularly enjoy the fibre sand surface at Southwell.
Dougie Costello took the ride and did a good job of looking after for the final two furlongs. Both Dougie and Steph thought she would be better suited by the drop down to 7 furlongs and running right handed. We will look for her next race around Kempton where she has run well in the past. We expect an improved showing.
She will improve from whatever she shows in her next few races as she is still coming back to full fitness. The plan is to get her handicapped to be winning races at the very start of the turf season as she loves the soft ground.
