The Muffin Man has just turned three and has had three runs in novices, earning a mark of 64. He came third on debut and was beaten just two lengths at Chelmsford on his final start of the season. He was then given a winter break so he would strengthen ahead of his three year old season.
The dam won two Newmarket handicaps as a three year old, improving 18lb in the process. Make Believe (sire of Mishriff) was a dual group 1 winner at three, setting the fastest ever time when winning the Prix de la Forêt at Longchamp.
On pedigree he should appreciate a step up in trip and the dam produced a dual winner last season over in Ireland in the shape of Speckled Meadow.
UPDATE: He has run a couple of nice races this season, including a couple of placed efforts. He is handicapped to win and seems to run best on stiff or undulating tracks.
